Vatha Urusander
The Tiste commander who founded Urusander's Legion and helped save Kurald Galain in the Forulkan and Jheleck wars, then withdrew from soldiering to his books at Neret Sorr.
Vatha Urusander founded the legion that carries his name and commands it still, and he and the Legion reside at Neret Sorr. In the wars against the Forulkan and the Jheleck he and his soldiers were instrumental in saving Kurald Galain from destruction, and when the fighting ended he accepted a return to peacetime standing and withdrew to his books and his study. Meaning to keep his son Osserc out of a life of soldiery, he told him the command of the Legion was not his to inherit; Osserc took it badly and abandoned his father.
