Trotts
The only Barghast among the Bridgeburners, pointman and fist of Whiskeyjack's 9th Squad, woad-tattooed and filed-toothed, as ready with a throwing axe as with a longsword.
Blue woad spirals cover the arms of this huge, wide-shouldered Barghast, broken here and there by white scars, and his black hair is braided into a ponytail knotted with charms and fetishes. Trotts fights for Sergeant Whiskeyjack's 9th Squad of the Bridgeburners as pointman and as the squad's fist, equally at home with throwing axes and with the longsword, and the fetishes and tattoos he wears leave him unafraid of sorcery. He has coal dark eyes, a thin wide mouth and filed teeth stained blue, and he falls back on an unnerving sharp-toothed grin whenever he grows suspicious. In battle he chants. Over cards he counts aloud in a flat monotone. Like many Malazan soldiers he was named by Master Sergeant Braven Tooth, and as Hedge put it, the Barghast was not called Trotts because he liked jogging.
