Triban Gnol

Triban Gnol is the wealthy chancellor to King Ezgara Diskanar of the Kingdom of Lether. His service is owed to the king, but his loyalties sit with Queen Janall and her son, Prince Quillas. Age shows in his arms, where veins and arteries stand out in sickly blues and greens, and he dresses in stiff-tipped slippers and a robe with a heavy brocaded collar. Old Letherii law bars a chancellor from formal attachments, though the court whispers that he shares a bed now and then with the queen's First Consort, Turudal Brizad. The subjugation of the Nerek, Tarthenal, and Faraed on the northern frontier was his doing: he and his people combed the detailed reports Sentinel Hull Beddict had filed on those tribes for weaknesses to exploit, and Beddict gave up his title and turned from his own countrymen over it.
