The T'lan Imass are the undead army of the Malazan Empire, warriors who travel as lightly as dust carried on the wind.
The T'lan Imass cannot, or will not, break through the magical defences of Moon's Spawn, the basalt fortress that hangs above the city of Pale.
In the chaos of the Seven Cities campaign, the T'lan Imass would not recognise the new Empress and marched off into the Jhag Odhan. Rumour has it that they are back at half-strength, and that whatever they met out there was unpleasant.
