T'lan Ay

Twice the size of the plains wolves of the Burn's Sleep era, the T'lan Ay have disproportionately long legs and broad shoulders, short necks and wide jaws. Some are grey and matted with black shoulders and thick silver tails tipped in black; others are the colour of powdered rotted wood, with tan throats and bellies. Their gaunt bodies and pitted eyes are those of the T'lan Imass, and they come out of the same terrible antiquity. The wolf gods Togg and Fanderay count the ay among their children. When the summons goes out to the Second Gathering they answer it, four or five hundred of them falling in with the Kron T'lan Imass near Capustan; the Bonecaster Pran Chole had not laid eyes on one in three thousand years.
