The Tiste Andii are the long-lived children of Mother Dark, wielders of the Elder Warren Kurald Galain, dwelling in Moon's Spawn under Anomander Rake in Gardens of the Moon.
The Tiste Andii are an ancient nonhuman people who dwell within the floating fortress of Moon's Spawn under their lord, Anomander Rake. They are children of Mother Dark, and their sorcery flows from Kurald Galain, the Elder Warren of Darkness, magic older and stranger than anything human mages command. Long-lived past human reckoning, they strike observers as remote and melancholy, a people carrying a history far too large for the world around them. A contingent of Andii stands against the Malazan Empire in the wars for Genabackis, and their night-hunters descend on the rooftops of Darujhistan, where the Andii tongue has not been heard for millennia.
