Squat as an ogre on short bandy legs, Thom Tissy is a sergeant of medium infantry in the 12th squad, 9th Company, 8th Legion of the Malaz 14th Army. He is virtually hairless, his cheeks pocked and the backs of his hands covered in warts, with dark beady eyes and palms thick with callus; one soldier allowed that his face might be handsome to a female toad. His single expression of disapproval makes him look like a man who has just swallowed a Nacht turd. He marches with Adjunct Tavore Paran's punitive expedition against the Army of the Apocalypse, and on the long road from Aren to Raraku he, Tulip, Ramp and Able take their share of the fighting, enough that their names are known throughout the legion.
