Starvald Demelain is called the First Warren, the realm that many others are said to have sprung from, and the home of Dragons.
The T'lan Imass Tool names it among the warrens in a pillar of sorcerous fire, alongside Tellann, Thyr, Denul and several more, a fire that burns in the sky far longer than any source should allow. Adjunct Lorn believes there are only three Elder warrens and has never heard of this one. In a tale he admits may hold little truth, Tool tells her that some Tiste Andii have embraced its power.
