Starvald Demelain

Starvald Demelain is an Elder warren, named in Gardens of the Moon, when a T'lan Imass lists it among the powers he can smell on the wind. The old accounts give it other names: the First Warren, the Warren of T'iam, and the Warren of the Eleint, which is to say of dragons.

It sits at the centre of the whole system of warrens. Every other warren, by those same accounts, sprouted from it, which puts the number of Elder warrens rather higher than the three that most human scholars are taught to count. Little else about the realm is settled knowledge. Mages who speak of it do so at second hand, from sources older than any library the empire holds.
