The Silanda is a sleek, black hulled Quon dromon from the years before the empire. She once held the only sanction to sail to and from Drift Avalii and trade with the Tiste Andii there, and much of her timber came from that island's trees.
She carries three masts and twin banks of oars, tattered square sails on the main and fore masts and the remnants of a lateen on the mizzen. Her black wood gives off darkness and carries no ornamentation at all. In the captain's quarters a map marks her last voyage, out of a pine forested land of fjords unknown to the Malazan Empire, east and then south across a vast ocean. She disappeared when the Emperor's forces overran Quon.
