The Shake are a subjugated people of the Letherii.
What survives most clearly is the shape of their institutions. Their royal titles take their names from the stages of the night between sunset and sunrise, in words drawn from a language older than Letherii. Their witches and warlocks hold the ritual knowledge of the people. A queen and a watch stand at the head of them, and both offices pass by descent rather than by Letherii appointment.
