Seven Cities is a subcontinent the Malazan Empire conquered in the Emperor's time, in a war fought from the breach at Aren to the Holy Desert Raraku.
Seven Cities lies some three thousand leagues from the island of Malaz, and word reaching Mock's Hold tells of searchers combing the smouldering rubble of a ruined city there called Y'Ghatan. The land is known for its warhorses, bred and trained over many generations, and its warriors favour the long-knife.
How far into Malazan have you read?
