Saeng

Saeng comes from a small town on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Thaumaturgs, on Jacuruku, and she is a priestess of Light as her ancestors were before her, descended from a line of priestesses of the Sky and Sun. In her village that inheritance counts as no honour; it marks her as a witch. What she knows of her own power she learned from the Nak-ta, the spirits around the village, who taught her to commune with unseen things and to bind animals to her will, and the gifts have left her set apart from the people she grew up among. She is the daughter of Janath and the sister of Hanu, and when Hanu is taken for service she cannot stop asking herself whether her own castings called that down on him.
