Above the Kokakal Sea, Ruthan Gudd tells Gall and Madan'Tul Rada of an island citadel in the bay, swallowed thousands of years ago when the T'lan Imass broke Jaghut sorcery far to the north and melting ice raised the seas. Asked if he is a historian, he recalls a much-copied Falari sea-current map. When Captain Kindly says he does not look Falari, he answers that by the legends of Strike its folk are the first people of Falar, and the red- and gold-haired Falari are invaders from across the eastern ocean.
