Refugium

The Refugium is a realm within Omtose Phellack, the Jaghut warren of ice, and it is named in Reaper's Gale. It holds the forest and tundra that survived between the ice fields in the age around the Ritual of Tellann, and it keeps that world running: emlava, ay, and herds of ranag, bhederin and tenag that migrate in and out of it as though out of nowhere.

Parts of its plains look like a seabed that dried out, with hills shaped like atolls and sand studded with broken shells. The sky carries a faint vermilion tint and the air feels strangely thin. Almost four thousand Bentract Imass live there, in the manner the Imass kept before the ice.
