The Refugium is a realm that Emroth knows as Tellann and home, hidden inside the Jaghut underworld, where Imass live in flesh and blood and emlava cats roam.
The Imass call such a place Farl ved ten ara: a pocket of rich land walled in by cold yet holding out against it, where their old ways carry on. Its ice gives way along a ragged edge to woods and grassy glades, and the Ritual has no hold inside. Time moves slowly there, and an Azath stands at its gate. To Udinaas it is wondrous, yet a prison.
