Poliel is the goddess of disease, called the Mistress of Pestilence, the Grey Goddess and the Queen of Disease, and she is named in Gardens of the Moon, among the ascendants and deities of the Deck of Dragons. Soliel, Mistress of Healing, is her sister and her counterpart.
Where she shows herself, the power coming off her blurs her own outline. Accounts give her long limbs suppurating with venom, a shrunken androgynous chest, legs with too many joints, three toed taloned feet as large as an enkar'al's, cracked and oozing lips, and eyes reduced to faint sparks at the centre of black bowls, all of it inside an eye burning fog of pestilence.
