Onos T'oolan, called Tool, is a T'lan Imass warrior of the Logros T'lan who fought in the Sixth Jaghut War, an undead figure with an unbreakable flint sword who travels with Adjunct Lorn.
He rises out of the earth of the Rhivi Plain in time to save Lorn from a Barghast war party, impaling the last warrior on his rippled stone blade. Untold ages have worn him to leathery skin and root-like sinew, with a heavy chinless jaw and dark empty eye sockets, and he speaks in a voice of stones and dust. Asked what fills his thoughts, he answers futility, with a dry humour Lorn struggles to read.
