Mappo Runt is a Trell warrior who crosses the wastes of Seven Cities as the companion of the wanderer Icarium. He is huge even by the measure of the Trell, broad-shouldered and long-armed, his black mane braided and studded with fetishes, his massive canines showing whenever he grins. His homeland lies beyond the Jhag Odhan, and the witches of his clan gifted him a leather sack that holds far more than it should, a warren-touched bag carrying his camp, his healing elixirs, and a petrified bone mace. The two companions are old in each other's company beyond ordinary lifetimes, and Mappo watches over his friend with a patience and gentleness that mark him from the first.
