Lether is an expanding kingdom of white-skinned Letherii to the south of the Tiste Edur, whose ships push into Edur waters and whose king rewards the borderland tribes that swear him fealty.
To Udinaas, born into debt and held as a slave in a Hiroth village, his own people value gold above all else, and debt binds the whole realm, shaping every bond. Trate is its northernmost city. The Edur and the Letherii mean to settle their quarrels over the northern coast at a Great Meeting.
