Kurald Liosan

The elder Warren of Light, known also as Kurald Thyrllan, is home to the Tiste Liosan and to their city of Saranas, and it is from Kurald Liosan that the world was given Light and Day. According to the High Mage L'oric, the Warren was born out of violence, in the shattering of Darkness, and the shattering of its sister realm left it twisted and fraught and hard for any outsider to enter. Over the ages it branched in many directions. Tellann, the warren of the T'lan Imass, came out of it first, and Thyr, the human warren of light, came later; Telas, the human warren of fire, is reckoned a child of Tellann and so traces its own roots back to Kurald Thyrllan as well.
