Kenryll'ah
Demons of a shared realm: the huge, lumbering, oddly philosophical Kenyll'rah, peasants by trade, and the tall, bony Kenryll'ah tyrants who have ruled over them long enough to grow complacent.
Two related kinds of demon share a realm and a name. The Kenyll'rah, whose name means roughly to sleep peacefully, are huge and lumbering, twice the height of a man, with bestial faces, broad flattened noses, small blue eyes and massive hands. Their voices are thin and oddly childlike, and they breathe in a strange pattern: one heavy breath, one short one, then a faint whistle that does not come from the nose. They are peasants by trade, casters of nets, tillers of soil, herders in pastures, no soldiers at all, though they can fight when called upon, and they are surprisingly philosophical about it. Above them stand the Kenryll'ah, tall, thin and extremely bony, intelligent rather than bestial, and given to feeding on the enemies they bring down. The Kenryll'ah tyrants have ruled their Kenyll'rah kin a very long time and have grown weak with complacency.
