Jheck
The Jheck are fur-clad hunters of the ice wastes beyond the Arapay lands, Soletaken able to take the shape of wolves, who attack out of darkness and blowing snow.
Their name, as the Arapay give it, means roughly standing wolves, and the Arapay speak of them as night killers who take body parts as trophies, carry away their own fallen and have never been taken alive. They are said to leave strong parties alone and prey on Edur hunters travelling in pairs. In battle they appear small and bestial, wrapped in white hides behind flat white masks, hurling antler weapons and thrusting stone-pointed spears. Trull Sengar finds it sordid that such primitive folk hold so holy a gift.
