Claimed by the Malazan Empire for its own use, the Imperial Warren is a ruined wasteland its mages and Claw cross unseen, known also as the Scarred Lands, the Moaning Plains, or the Scar.
The Imperial Warren is the path the Malazan Empire claims for its own use, a stretch of ruined wasteland whose emptiness carries the marks of a far older history. Imperial mages and Claw assassins travel it to cross the world quickly and unseen, and because no god or other power has laid claim to it, passage there counts as much safer than passage through any other warren. Some know it as the Scarred Lands, some as the Moaning Plains, and some simply as the Scar.
