The Hounds of Light are fabled beasts that Traveller brings up when two white Hounds turn up out of nowhere among the Hounds of Shadowthrone.
Shadowthrone names the pair Pallid, the white one, and Lock, the whiter one, and insists he must have summoned them somehow, which Cotillion flatly denies, though the rest of the pack seems to accept them. When Traveller asks whether the newcomers might be the Hounds of Light, Cotillion only winks. The two trail behind as a reluctant rearguard when the pack escorts Traveller inland.
