Hounds of Light
The Hounds of Light are horse-sized, bone-white beasts of Kurald Thyrllan, the Elder Warren of Light, counterparts and equals of the Hounds of Shadow, first appearing in Toll the Hounds.
The Hounds of Light are monstrous beasts of Kurald Thyrllan, the Elder Warren of Light. Even the smallest stands the size of a horse, with short bone-white hair over skin of so dark a blue it looks black, onyx eyes, and unusually long teeth. They are leaner and longer-necked than the Hounds of Shadow, the beasts of Shadowthrone, and one against one they are reckoned those Hounds' equals. Like their counterparts they are creatures of an Elder realm rather than animals, ancient and deadly, and their appearances in the world are rare, sudden, and ill-omened. Where the Hounds of Shadow have been known and dreaded, the white Hounds arrive without history or explanation.
