Hetan is a shaman of the Senan clan and a daughter of Humbrall Taur, warchief of the White Face Barghast, one of ten children and sister to Cafal. She is dark-eyed and heavily muscled, and smears her face with white paint until it looks like a skull. Her shoulder-length hair is braided, dyed red with ochre and knotted through with bone fetishes, and her hauberk and gauntlets are threaded with holed copper and silver coins struck in no mint anyone recognises. She and her brothers carry a mix of lances, throwing axes, fighting axes, hook-bladed swords and assorted knives. She has chosen no mate and shows no interest in settling with any one man; her appetites are described as voracious and her habits as ferocious.
