Dark-skinned and astonishingly fast, Gunth Mach stands balanced on two massive hind legs with talons on her forelegs, a young K'Chain Che'Malle Drone who guards the Awl war leader Redmask alongside the K'ell Hunter Sag'Churok. Where Redmask found the pair, and how he came to know their names, he will not say. Both have prodigious appetites and spend much of their time hunting; when Sag'Churok brings down bhederin he yields the carcass to her and waits while she takes her fill. Rhinazan that followed her out of the eastern Wastelands of Lether settle on her back to pluck ticks from her hide and lick her scales clean of blood and gore. Toc Anaster, who knows that K'ell Hunters ordinarily serve as the elite guard of a Matron, wonders aloud whether she might be a Queen in the making.
