Greymane, also written Graymane, is a Malazan commander of the Korelri campaign, first named in House of Chains, where he is counted among the great leaders of the imperial military alongside Dujek Onearm, Admiral Nok and Coltaine.
He is a huge man with broad shoulders, trunk like legs, a flattened nose, a heavy mouth and deep set grey blue eyes, his skin a dark berry hue and his chest under a pelt of grey hair. His age is anyone's guess. He heals uncommonly well and keeps the strength and energy of a far younger man. He comes from the island of Geni, southeast of Quon Tali, the son of a fisherman, and he swore off the sea for the army after the Stormriders took his father.
