Genabackis is a land of cities like Pale, of Blackdog Forest and the Rhivi Plain, where Onearm's Host has built its sweeping legend through hard campaigning.
Word in the Malazan heartland is that the campaign on Genabackis is a mess, and recruiters are told to take anyone with all their limbs and a head on their shoulders. Near Mott Forest, farmland lies stricken by five years of drought and a war of twice that length. Moon's Spawn reappears over the continent, and Tiste Andii legions join the warlord Caladan Brood and the Crimson Guard against the empire.
