The god known as the Boar of War, each of whose five tusks carries a name.
Fener is the god known as the Boar of War, named in Gardens of the Moon. He carries other names too: Tennerock, the Boar of Five Tusks, the Boar of Summer and the Tusked Sower of War. Each of his five tusks has a name of its own, being Hate, Love, Laughter, War and Tears.
His worship runs deep among soldiers. Cults of the Boar flourished in the Malazan military early in Emperor Kellanved's reign, above all in the Marines, until Empress Laseen crushed the Cult of the Boar and the Claw made its presence unwelcome. His followers keep to a body of law and doctrine called Fener's Reve, and his priesthood is mostly male. Kartool Island permitted seven religions before the Malazan conquest, and his stood among them.
