Stripped to bare foundations by a population collapse after the Age of Tyrants, the Dwelling Plain is now the ground of Dwell raiders and of outcasts driven from the villages and cities.
The Dwelling Plain was once thick with brick towers and leagues of urban dwellings, and a population collapse after the Age of Tyrants left it stripped down to the barest foundations and a scattering of brick. What lives there now includes the Dwell, raiders whom the people of Darujhistan call shrieking savages, and it is not unknown for a hundred of them at once to fall on a passing caravan. The rest of its occupants are outcasts from the villages and cities.
