Dragnipur is Anomander Rake's massive two-handed sword in Gardens of the Moon, forged in Darkness, its drawn blade loud with chains, for the souls of those it slays are bound within it.
Dragnipur is the two-handed sword carried by Anomander Rake, Lord of Moon's Spawn. Its wooden scabbard runs a full six and a half feet, its pommel is a silver dragon skull, and when the blade is drawn the air fills with sounds that do not belong to it: creaking wheels, dragging chains, a chorus of hopeless moaning. The Elder God K'rul describes its nature. The sword was forged in Darkness, and those it slays are not merely killed; their souls pass into the black within the blade, chained there to a burden that is never set down. Even a shallow cut from Dragnipur can be lethal, blood boiling to ash along its edge, and beings of great power treat the weapon's mere presence as reason to be elsewhere.
