Delanss
Capital of Delanss Island in the Falari Isles, Delanss is a closed and tightly knit city of fighting academies whose surrender to the Malazans is said to have changed little but the flags.
Delanss, sometimes written Delans, is the capital city of Delanss Island, the second most populous of the Falari Isles north of Quon Tali, with Iguan lying to the east and Wett to the west. Its society is closed and tightly knit, and its capitulation to the Malazan invaders is said to have amounted to little more than a change in the colour of the flags above the harbour fortress, though Talian serves the island as an unofficial second tongue. Several prestigious fighting academies keep their halls here, among them Grieg's Academy, the School of the Curved Blade, and the Black Falcon School. The wealthy dress to be seen, in rounded cloth hats set with semi-precious stones, thick fur-trimmed robes, long silver chains, and rings gemmed on several fingers. The sigil of Delanss shows a tree and a shield.
