Chaur
A mute young man with the mind of a child, Chaur lives in a hamlet on the Tapur Road in Seven Cities, where the blacksmith Barathol Mekhar stands as his guardian.
Chaur is a huge, heavily muscled young man with a pocked and ugly face and skin the colour of stained rawhide. He has the mind of a child, and though he cannot speak he makes himself understood through a range of sounds, laughter among them. He is good natured, fiercely loyal, and stubborn, and the sight of blood has never troubled him. He lives in a tiny hamlet in Seven Cities, where the Tapur Road meets a trail running up into the Path'apur Mountains, three days' walk south of Ahol Tapur. The village blacksmith, Barathol Mekhar, looks after him.
