An old, scarred man who keeps house for Tehol Beddict without wages, knits to pass the time, runs a small construction business, and still dresses the dead free of charge for anyone who asks.
An old man with a grizzled, mostly bald head, watery eyes and a body covered in scars, Bugg keeps house for Tehol Beddict in Letheras and takes no wage for it. He lives on the ground floor and climbs to the roof, where his employer spends most of his time, only when a task needs better light. Knitting is one of those tasks. His shirt is sewn with a great many hidden pockets. Before he entered Tehol's service he dressed the dead, and he still performs that office free of charge for anyone in the city who needs it; the two men first met when Bugg embalmed both of Tehol's parents. He also runs a construction company that takes on work around the city. He has sworn a vow of celibacy.
