Borduke is a sergeant of marines in the Malaz 14th Army, leading the 6th squad of the 9th Company in the 8th Legion. He pulls and tugs at his beard when he is thinking hard or under strain. Sergeant Moak holds, on one of his hunches, that Borduke once threw a nobleborn officer off a cliff near Karashimesh, a thing nobody has managed to prove. He puts little trust in the officers set over him, and a good deal of respect in Fiddler's standing as a Bridgeburner.
