Bluerose Mountains
A range on the Letherii continent crossed by three western passes, one of them watched by a Letherii fort, with bandits on its western slopes and orthen and hot-spring Ootooloo among its wildlife.
The Bluerose Mountains rise on the Letherii continent, and the South Jasp River is one of four tributaries of the Lether River that begin among them. Three passes cross the western range. The southernmost is Pearls Pass, which leads down to the city of Pearls in south Bluerose, while the rutted track over the pass nearest the South Jasp is watched by a Letherii fort of thick tapering walls and squared, flat-topped corner bastions, garrisoned by one or two hundred soldiers with hundreds of civilian staff behind them. Trade eastward through the mountains into Bluerose runs mostly to slaves and luxury foodstuffs from the far south, and the western slopes are notorious for bandits. Primitive sea creatures called Ootooloo live in the hot springs, orthen are found in the South Jasp pass and nowhere else, and the heights hold rock-climbing horned sheep and cliff-nesting condors.
