Barahn

Among the larger clans of the White Face Barghast, the Barahn can put ten thousand or more seasoned weapon-bearers in the field at any one time. Their warriors go to war in bronze brigandine, faces painted in white death-masks streaked with red ochre, greased black hair spiked and set with red-tipped porcupine quills that clatter as they trot. When the clan is on the move, standard-bearers come on close behind their Warchief, Maral Eb, carrying iron-sheathed poles with severed heads impaled upon them. The clan's fiercest rivals are not outsiders but the Senan, the clan of Warchief Humbrall Taur, and when Taur calls the White Face clans to a gathering in central Genabackis, the bad blood between the two runs to more than fifty duels before the talking is done.
