An Azath House is a structure that grows where untamed power runs wild. Common understanding holds that an Azath rises where unchained power threatens the life around it, and that its yard serves as a prison for beings too strong for any other cage.
The Houses resemble one another closely: squat, asymmetrical two storey towers framing a shadowed entrance, a walled yard behind, and a door that almost nobody can open from the outside. Each needs a Guardian or Keeper to greet those who come and, at need, to protect them. Mages of the Denul warren keep well clear of the Houses, saying an Azath notices them with something close to hunger.
