Yellow Mountains
An ancient range in the south-east of Middle-earth, the Yellow Mountains were one of seven thrown up when Melkor cast down the Two Lamps.
The Yellow Mountains were a range of the ancient world, set in the south-east of Middle-earth between the Sea of Ringil and the Eastern Sea. They were one of seven ranges thrown up when Melkor cast down the Two Lamps and the shape of the world was broken. They do not appear by name on the maps drawn for the time of the Awakening of the Elves, and the surviving maps of the Dark Lands place them differently from one another, so where exactly they stood is not clear.
