Tarlang
A giant of the old legends of Lamedon and Erech, Tarlang was said with his kin to have raised the White Mountains.
Tarlang was a giant of legend, remembered by the people of Lamedon and Erech in the hill country of Gondor. The story told among them is that in ancient days giants lived in the land between the White Mountains and the sea, north of the Bay of Belfalas, and that Tarlang and his kin were the ones who raised the White Mountains. Several features of the land are said to carry his name still, among them Cûl Veleg, Cûl Bîn, Dol Tarlang, and Tarlang's Neck. In later days the name became a common one among Gondorians.
