The Seven Hoards of the Dwarf-kings were the treasures of the seven Dwarvish clans, one hoard to each house, and every one of them rested on a golden ring. The Dwarves were given the Seven Rings by Sauron in the Second Age, and it was likely through those rings that the hoards were amassed at all. By the Third Age they were gone, plundered and devoured by dragons.
