Ring of Thrór

First of the Seven to be made, this ring went to Durin III of Khazad-dûm and stayed in the House of Durin down the generations until it reached Thrór, King under the Mountain, whose name it carries afterwards. It was reckoned the mightiest of the Dwarf-rings. What it did for the Dwarf-lords who kept it is a matter of report rather than record: the seven hoards of the Dwarf-kings were said to have been gathered by the power of a ring, and a king who held one grew rich in a way his neighbours did not. It made no Dwarf invisible, and it turned none of them into wraiths, whatever it did to their appetite for gold.
