Ossiriand

Ossiriand is the easternmost country of Beleriand in the First Age, lying between the Blue Mountains and the river Gelion. It is called the Land of Seven Rivers for the streams that run down through it: Gelion, Ascar, Thalos, Legolin, Brilthor, Duilwen and Adurant. The Silmarillion describes it as green, warm and gently wooded, and along the north bank of the Ascar runs the Dwarf-road toward Nogrod. The Sindar do not settle it. Early in the First Age a people of the Teleri called the Nandor come into the land under their leader Denethor, and Thingol gives them leave to dwell there. From their old clan-name the country is often called Lindon, the land of the Singers, and its people are known as the Green-elves.
