Morwen Steelsheen
A woman of Gondor and later Queen of Rohan, tall and dark-haired and of Dúnedain blood.
Born in Gondor in TA 2922, Morwen Steelsheen was a dark-haired woman who became Queen of Rohan. She stood taller than most Men of Middle-earth, a mark of her Dúnedain blood that carried down to several of her descendants. She lived in Belfalas as kin to the Prince of Dol Amroth before her family moved to the flowery vales of Lossarnach, and there she met Thengel son of Fengel, then living in exile from Rohan. She was seventeen years younger than he was, and she loved him. They married in TA 2943 and had five children, among them Théoden and Théodwyn, the mother of Éomer and Éowyn. Her beauty, her grace and her pride together earned her the name Steelsheen. She went with Thengel to Rohan when he came into the kingship, and being of pure Dúnedain descent she probably outlived him, since the people of Gondor tended to longer lives than the Rohirrim.
