Mordor
Mordor is the dark land of Sauron in the east of Middle-earth, the realm where the Dark Lord has arisen again and from which his servants ride out to seek the One Ring.
Far to the east of the Shire, beyond lands most hobbits cannot name, lies the country every early tale teaches one to dread. Mordor is the realm of Sauron, the Dark Lord: a guarded land where he dwelt in an earlier age and to which he has returned. Gandalf speaks of it reluctantly, for its very name carries fear. In the lore, Mordor is where the shadow gathers anew. There the Dark Tower is rebuilt, there the Enemy's servants multiply, and from there ride the Black Riders who come north hunting for Bilbo's ring. To the peoples of Middle-earth it stands as the source of the growing darkness, a place spoken of in whispers and never willingly approached by the free folk.
