Meneldil

Meneldil is the third King of Gondor. He is born in Númenor, the youngest of Anárion's four children and his only son, with three elder sisters, and he is said to be the last child born on that island. Isildur, his uncle, spends some years preparing him to govern the South-kingdom, since Isildur and his own sons mean to go north and rule in Arnor. The chronicles call Meneldil farsighted, and add that he was not sorry to hear of that departure, hoping the affairs of the north might keep his kinsmen busy.
