King of Gondor

Gondor's history is the history of a crown. King of Gondor is the title of the rulers of the southern realm of the Men of Westernesse, a line running from Elendil and his sons, in whose house the kingship passes down through the long centuries of the Third Age. The kings' emblems are the White Tree and the seven stars, and their names fill the annals of the South. In the era the line of the kings has failed: the throne stands empty, and hereditary Stewards govern the realm in the kings' name, keeping it in trust. The full roll of the kings, from the founding of the realm onward, is set out in the appendices, where the histories of the two kingdoms of the Dúnedain are told.
