Isumbras IV Took was a Hobbit of the Shire and the twenty-eighth Thain. He was the third child of Gerontius Took, the Old Took, and Adamanta Chubb, and grew up in a family of twelve. Through his sister Belladonna he was one of the many uncles of Bilbo Baggins. He was father to Fortinbras Took and grandfather to Ferumbras, and he held the Thainship from TA 2930 until his death in TA 2939.
