A travelling food of the Beornings, like cram in keeping well on the road but much better to eat.
Honey-cakes were a food the Beornings prepared for travellers. They were like cram in being nourishing and easy to carry on a journey, but a good deal better to eat, and by the later years of the Third Age the Beornings had grown reluctant to share them with people passing through their country. Gimli thought highly of them.
