Patriarch of a Shire family that was cousin to both the Gamgees and the Cottons, Holman the Greenhanded had five children.
Holman the Greenhanded, called Holman Greenhand, was a Hobbit of the Shire and the patriarch of his family. He married, though his wife's name went unrecorded, and had five children: Rowan, Halfred, Erling, Hending, and Rose. His line was cousin to both the Gamgee and the Cotton families. Little else of him survives in the record, but the trade did: his grandson, another Holman Greenhand, kept the garden at Bag End and took on Hamfast Gamgee as his apprentice.
