Half-orcs
Bred from Orcs and Men by the craft of the Dark Lords in the Elder Days, Half-orcs or Orc-men endured daylight, and served their makers in later ages as soldiers and as spies.
From the crossbreeding of Orcs and Men arose the creatures called Half-orcs, or Orc-men, an evil first conceived in the Elder Days, when Men bent to an Orc-level of mind and habits were joined by dark craft to the race of Orcs. The making of such creatures was a work of the Dark Lords and their servants, and the secret of it did not die with the First Age; it waited, to be relearned or rediscovered by those who studied their methods in after days. Larger than Orcs and able to bear the light of the Sun, Half-orcs made soldiers and spies that common Orcs could not.
